FINAL wohoooooooooooooo

This is my final blog post for ap art EVERRRR. i am sad, but i am also very excited to be done and move on to new things. YAYYYYYY


Advice ---> Everyone do NOT procrastinate. Use your class time and use your freinds for advice and ideas. Working in class and with your freinds gets alot better work done then alone at home rushing to finish work at late hours in the night. Work in the attic!! You can spy on the class and not have to worry about others creeping over your shoulder at your work (i was a little self concious about that). Be nice to your class, they are your art family :)and you will have to survive art with them the whole year, and it will be FUN! Love your teacher, she is amazing and dont be scared to listen to her advice because it will help you!


My favorite piece this year is probably my Rhino because i did it in such a short amount of time and i really liked the colors and outcome of the peice

I learned that I work well under pressure. I also learned that i get scared when i am starting a peice because i get scared of the outcome of what the peice will end up looking like. I know that i need to just go for it and paint what i want, and whatever i paint can be painted over.

The event/activity that i got the most out of this year was probably the Ap art showcase. I got alot of work done the week before becuase i was under so much pressure to finish for the show. it also was intersting to see how people reacted to my work when it was on display, and i had a really good time. I really liked going to the CCC regional skills day, i thought it was fun and allowed us to be creative with a small amount of supplies. I really like the jesse reno work shop and had fun learning how other artist work with their materials to create their art. I also had fun at the bbq because we got to eat :)

In 10 years i see myself being out of college and hopefully married with a job that i love doing, maybe being a teacher or working with art in some way (art teacher maybe?).

this week

I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW I HAVE BEEN SUCH A GOOD ART STUDENT. I have been working consistently every day in class and i have come after school soooo much and i plant to this week as well cause i am working extra hard on making great peices and fixing my not so great ones. i found some cool wood and things in the back that im painting on and i am having a fun time :)

OH. MY. GOSH.

so i know im not supposed to write about random stuff that doesnt have to do with art. but OH MY GOSH. i am so UPSETTTTTTTTTTTTT. MY PAPER IS GONE AND I WAS LIKE HALF WRITTEN AND IT IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND ON MY COMPUTER AND I HAVE TO STAY UP EXTRA LATE TO REDO IT CAUSE ITS DUE TOMORROW. and im jsut freaking out and tomorrow is my birthday and i dont wanna be grumpy. ughhhh
so this is the art part about this. i have been a very good art student recently and i have come in 3 times after school in the past week and i am very proud of myself :) wooooooooooooo go linnea.

Spring break

So on spring break i was in palm springs and went to dinner with my friend at her country club and they had this artist on display and if i remember correctly his name was Dan Green. but im not totally sure and i wish i would have written it down because he had the coolest painting of this mans face and it was all in shapes that were highlighted with a different color and peiced together to form his face. i dont know how to describe it that good but it was soooo cool and i want to try something like it so im thinking about working it into some of my peices

Thread

So in the beggining of the year when i did alot of sketch books i used thread and like embroidered alot of my work. I really wanted to incorporate that into my concentration peices but i havent done it yet. i was thinking about going back and maybe adding it into some that could use a little more, but i think i am forsure going to try and add it into my next concentration peices.

Fishies

So natalie got me some fishies for christmas. two gold fishes and one is white and one is orange. and today i bought them a cute castle for their tank :) and i have a candle lit right by them so they look all shiny and pretty. so anyways. the point of this is that i wanna do a different fishy painting cause im not toooo fond of the one i have its super duper cartooony and like blah. and i wanna do one where the fishies are like all pretty and shiny and spakly cause they look soooo cool right now. k thats all.

Sooooooooooo. For my art i have realized that i dont want it to just be like BAM an animal. cause like alot of people said it is like that in everrrrrrrrry singggggggggggle onnnnnnne. and i dont like it. and i need to be able to make the animal connect more with the background. i would really like some suggestions please :) i just need to be able to open up more and not just do a background and stick on an animal. i need to make it alot more interesting so any ideas would be really great thank you :) gahhhhhhhh my next two pieces will hopefully be not so boring -____- i dont know what animals i want to do yet so suggestions on that would be cool toooooo

Concentration Number Two

My art work is centered around patterns and animals. I am creating the two together and experimenting with the backgrounds and either working their way into the animal or showing characteristics of the animal. some of my work may show opposite backgrounds of that the animal's shapes and patterns show and this could be used as a contrast, and then some of the will use equal patterns in the background to show the animal connecting with the background and the setting.
First of all i love colors so i try to use a wide range of color and designs in my background. i play with the designs and structure them to flow well with the animal that i incorporate.
what works best for me is usually picking an animal i like and studying its features and colors and patterns on its skin or fur. i also look at the animal and think of what setting it would be in and what colors the animal shows to me and that is how i choose what i do. i love patterns and animals so i try to mix them all together :)

Ideas please

So i have just been working on the backgrounds of my peices and i have yet to put an animal in them and i think i am going to do this zeebra and this buffalo. but i need more interesting animal ideas because im kinda pulling a blank on what animals i would like to use. let me know what animals you guys would like to see me use and what other ideas you have for my work :)

Artist

so i was looking up some animal art work and i realllllllllllly need some inspiration for my concentration. If any of you have any ideas of what i could do, i really need help :). I am surrounding my concentration around animals, but my concentration cant just be "animals". so i need some help and some good ideas if you have any! i love designs and what not, so i want to incorporate that into it as well. here is something i liked
